Chocolate Fudge

Nothing says old-fashioned indulgence like a batch of homemade fudge, made just the way Grandma did—rich, smooth, and melt-in-your-mouth creamy. Fudge has been a beloved homemade confection for generations because it’s simple yet decadent. The deep chocolate flavor and silky texture make it irresistible, and best of all, it’s made with just a handful of pantry staples. If you love variety, try swapping out semisweet chocolate for dark or white chocolate!

Ingredients (for about 36 small squares):

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Optional mix-ins: ½ cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or mini marshmallows

Instructions:

  1. Line an 8x8” baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, combine chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Melt using a double boiler (or microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring between each) until smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and salt. If using nuts or marshmallows, gently fold them in.
  4. Spread the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm. Once set, lift the fudge out using the parchment overhang and cut into bite-sized squares.
  6. Enjoy immediately, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
