Choosing the Wrong Varieties

When it comes to fish, not all are created equal. The first thing you should consider is its origin. Locally farmed frozen fish tends to be of higher quality compared to potentially cheaper options from other countries, where farming practices may not be as transparent.

Additionally, some types of fish do not freeze well. For example, mackerel and tuna, which fall into the "oily fish" category, can have their texture and flavor altered during the freezing process. On the other hand, certain varieties, especially white fish, hold up well under this method of preservation.
