Cheeseburger Salad
A healthier alternative to a burger, and much tastier. This dish is guaranteed not to sit heavily in your stomach like fast food from some quick-service restaurants. And at first glance, this salad might seem rather unhealthy.
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- 8 tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 8 pickles
- 6 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 6 tbsp yogurt
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 14 oz ground beef
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Wash the iceberg lettuce leaves and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Remove the stems from the tomatoes and dice the flesh. Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Slice the pickles.
- Mix ketchup, mustard, and yogurt together, season with salt and pepper. If necessary, add some water to achieve a creamy salad dressing consistency.
- Brown the ground beef in a pan and mix in the onion rings while still hot.
- Layer all the ingredients in a salad bowl, placing the warm beef and cheddar cheese on top, then pour the dressing over.
Tip: If desired, you can add two tablespoons of croutons.
Enjoy your healthy and delicious cheeseburger salad!
