Pesto and other pasta dishes are a perfect playground for garlic. Especially when garlic cloves are sliced and roasted, they complement any pasta dish and are even served as a snack in Mediterranean countries.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
14 ounces spaghetti
2 garlic cloves
2/3 cup olive oil
Herbs (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Cook the spaghetti in a pot of salted water until al dente.
Peel the garlic cloves and finely chop or slice them.
In a pan, warm the olive oil with the garlic over low heat for about 3 minutes. Season to taste.
Drain the pasta in a colander, let it dry well, then add it to the pan with the garlic oil and mix thoroughly.
