Rustic and full of flavor, this pear galette uses maple syrup in both the filling and glaze. The flaky crust encases tender, caramelized pears for a dessert that looks impressive but is deceptively simple. Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients (for 6 servings):
1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
3 ripe pears, thinly sliced
3 tbsp maple syrup, divided
1 tbsp flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Toss pear slices with 2 tbsp maple syrup, flour, and vanilla.
Roll the crust into a circle and place the pears in the center, leaving a 2-inch border.
Fold edges over pears, brush crust with egg wash, and bake for 35–40 min. Drizzle with remaining maple syrup before serving.
