Brussels sprouts caramelize beautifully in the oven, and when paired with smoky bacon and sweet maple syrup, the result is a savory-sweet side dish that disappears fast. The maple glaze gives the sprouts a sticky, crisped finish that pairs well with roast chicken or pork. A quick roast in a hot oven keeps prep time short and the flavor big.
Ingredients (for 4-6 servings):
1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp maple syrup
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Toss Brussels sprouts and bacon with olive oil, maple syrup, salt, and pepper on a large baking sheet.
Roast for 20–25 min., stirring once, until caramelized and tender.
Serve hot, drizzled with an extra splash of maple syrup if desired.
