Cootie Brown's was opened in Johnson City by the Vella family in 1999 and has since opened a second location in Bristol, due to its widespread success. Similar to its name, the restaurant is a bit zany, with psychedelic colors and wacky furnishings. The popular Tennessee eatery prides itself on serving "real food," which comes in the form of several cuisines, including Jamaican, Mexican, Italian, New Orleans and American to reflect an interest in world foods.
