How To Eat Every Bite

If you love sushi but you still can't seem to master the use of chopsticks...don't worry! It's not frowned upon in Japanese culture to eat with your hands, so don't feel bad picking up the pieces with your fingers instead. And if you want to try eating with chopsticks but still find it complicated, try using the thicker ends of the chopsticks to pick up your food. It's a bit easier!

When you eat the wasabi, don't put it directly into the sauce (oops!). What you should do instead is place a little bit between the rice and the fish, using your chopsticks.

Think it's hard to eat sushi because the rice gets all soaked and falls off? That's because you're doing it wrong! When you dip your sushi roll, only wet it in the sauce a little bit on the side with the fish — never the rice!

And if you're wondering about the ginger, that's to cleanse your palate between sushi bites. That way we can taste each variety of fish without mixing the flavors.

Now that you know all you need to know, all that's left to do is  to practice these tips at your favorite Japanese restaurant!
