British news source The Daily Mail launched a genealogical investigation to find out more about the blushing bride-to-be. Despite the fact that Meghan Markle is American, she has colonial British roots. She and Prince Harry share a (very) distant relation going back 15 generations: an Englishman named Ralph Bowes, who served as High Sheriff of County Durham in the late 1400s.
