Rice

Don't expect leftover rice to have a nice, fluffy texture if you just toss it in the microwave or reheat it on the stove in a pot. It needs moisture to become soft again, so remember this when you choose your method. If you're going the microwave route, place the rice in a microwave-safe dish and add a teaspoon of water. Place a damp paper towel over the top and warm up your rice for about two minutes. If you have a larger portion of rice to reheat, opt for the oven. You can add the rice to a large glass baking dish, pour in a bit of water all over (enough to moisten it, not soak it), then cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake at 300°F for 20 minutes or until heated through.
