Forgetting to add the liquid

When using a pressure cooker, liquid is an essential component, whether it be with grains, meat, vegetables, etc. Liquid is necessary to boil and create steam inside the pressure cooker, which is how the food gets cooked. If you don't add enough, the process won't work. On the other hand, you don't want to go overboard with the liquid either. Adding too much can ruin the texture and flavor of the food, or leave you with runny sauces. As a general rule, you should always add 1 cup of cooking liquid (water, stock, wine, beer, etc.), unless the recipe states otherwise.
