Bye-bye Bangerz and hello Malibu. Miley Cyrus is back and better than ever. The popstar has received some unfavorable press in recent years. Now she's changed her image once again - and there's something all of us can learn from her evolution.

Miley has resurfaced along with the release of her latest single "Malibu" this past May. The song is fresh-faced and mellow - much like Miley's new style. Gone are the "Bangerz" days of bare skin and infinite tongue. She's toned things down and seems much closer to her country roots.

Here are just a few things we can all learn from metamorphasis:

Change is natural, and you should embrace it.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Miley describes this period in her life as a transition. Even though she's gone from a variety of changes from Hannah Montana to Bangerz to now, she has never not been authentic. She tells Bazaar, “People get told that it’s a bad thing to change. Like, people will say, ‘You’ve changed.’ And that’s supposed to be derogatory. But you are supposed to change all the time.

Re-think what it means to be a role model

Miley Cyrus infamous 2013 VMA performance with Robin Thicke certainly raised a lot of eyebrows. She scandalized parents all over the country with the twerking, nude bikini, and her unforgettable tongue. From then on, she was seen as a bad role model - something she certainly takes offense to. She asserts in her interview, "Because I got my tits out before doesn’t make me less of a role model.”

And she's right - we shouldn't be so quick to judge others based on their appearance. Role models come in all shapes and sizes, and she's living proof. In 2014, tongue face and all, Miley Cyrus even started her own charity for homeless LGBTQ youth called the Happy Hippie Foundation

Love more. It's never tooooo much. It's never enough! Love Love Love! @happyhippiefdn Today we remember all those souls we lost at Pulse in Orlando..... they were taken because of hate ...discrimination ....the divide.... let's erase all of this and draw a big heart in the sand instead! No more lines between you and me..... us and them... we are all the same! Humans ! Animals ! Trees ! Clouds! Oceans ! WE all can relate on the fact that we are in such desperate need of RESPECT! We must take care of one another! Treat strangers like life long friends! Treat the earth like it's the only we have (because it is) !!!!! Treat animals like they have feelings (because they do) !!!! Looooove Loooove Loooooove! & MORE!

Always be yourself

Throughout her identity changes, Miley has always stuck to one principle: always be yourself. Especially as an entertainer, she's been under pressure to conform or to turn into someone else entirely.

We face these kinds of pressures everyday - from school, from work, even from our own families. Every now and then, we encounter someone like Miley who gives us the courage to be ourselves...even when it feels like the entire universe is telling us otherwise.
