Now There's a Siri For Food: Meet Ria, The World's First AI Nutritionist

HealthifyMe, a weight loss and fitness start-up, recently released their new AI-powered voice assistant. Ria, as she is called, is equipped with extensive health and nutrition expertise– about 200 years worth of human knowledge, to be exact, according to CEO Tushar Vashisht.
"Ria can answer questions around nutrition and fitness via both audio and text," HealthifyMe states. "It can do so in more than 10 languages and provides personalised responses based on the users' lifestyle habits."
The AI learns based on findings obtained via the main HealthifyApp, which includes meal plans and advice from health coaches. This gives it a specialized knowledge that makes its responses and information better tailored to each individual.
The goal? To make a healthy lifestyle that much easier live by.
Weight gain and obesity is becoming an ever-more serious epidemic around the world. In Bangalore, where HealthifyMe is based, it was estimated in 2012 that 4 out of every 10 Bangaloreans were obese. In the United States in 2017, at least five states have obesity ratings that are higher than 35%.
