Apple Crumble

This crumble tastes wonderful and may look like an unhealthy cake at first glance. But upon closer inspection, the combination of ingredients is healthy and delicious.

 

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 4 apples
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or date syrup (optional)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch or 1 tbsp ground almonds (for binding)
  • 1 cup rolled oats 
  • 1/3 cup ground almonds 
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

 

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Peel and dice the apples. Mix with cinnamon, lemon juice, syrup, and cornstarch. Place the mixture in a baking dish.
  3. For the streusel, combine all the ingredients with your fingers or a fork to form a crumbly dough.
  4. Spread the streusel evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until the streusel is golden brown and the apples are soft.

Tip: Instead of cream, Greek yogurt pairs perfectly and tastes delicious while being healthier.
