You have under-catered

It's a common situation: your guests are about to arrive and the food you have prepared suddenly doesn't look like enough. Thankfully this one is quite easy to fix: tell your guests that the main course is a little delayed, and encourage them to dig into the appetizers. Bulk up your appetizers by setting out plenty of bread, dips crackers, cheese, fresh fruit and nuts. If you're low on these, consider asking close friends or relatives to pick up extra supplies on the way.  And in the meantime, keep the drinks flowing!
