In Japan, eating with chopsticks is not only a must, but an art! Licking chopsticks in public is a definite no-no. Pointing at someone using chopsticks is also considered rude and uncivil. When you're done with your meal, make sure you rest your chopsticks parallel to each other; crossing them is associated with death and funerals.
