One of the most common (and potentially serious) problems that overweight and obese people face is in the joints, especially knees. This can not only cause a plethora of medical issues, but it can also make movement and exercise difficult and can cause chronic pain.

In this 2013 study, weight loss significantly lowered the amount of pressure that overweight individuals with knee osteoarthritis experienced. That means less pain and healthier joints, not to mention all the benefits that these two things bring with them!

Dive into summer with this fresh, light and healthy mango salad!

INGREDIENTS

  • Peanuts
  • Carrot
  • Mango
  • Rocket
  • 2 limes
  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Red onion, minced
  • Salt
  • Pepper

 

METHOD

  1. Lightly sautée the peanuts until golden.
  2. Take the carrots and cut into thin slices.
  3. Peel the mango and slice into thin strips.
  4. Squeeze the juice from 2 limes into a bowl, and add olive oil, soy sauce, minced onion, salt and pepper.
  5. In a bowl, toss together the mango, carrot, rocket, and lime-soy dressing.
  6. Enjoy!
