Smørrebrød
Smørrebrød is essentially an open-faced sandwich, on dark rye bread. Toppings vary, but typically include cold cuts, pieces of fish or meat, spreads, cheese, vegetables and/or eggs. Originally a Danish practice, this kind of sandwich is now popular all over the world (avocado toast, anyone?!).
