Shawarma is a Middle Eastern sandwich specialty that consists of marinated shaved lamb or chicken that's cooked on a spit. It's basically a fancier name for "kebab," with the meat stuffed into a pita or sandwich wrap along with shredded or chopped fresh veggies, various condiments and pickles.
