Hot Apple Cider

Hot apple cider is the quintessential fall drink. Filled with cozy spices like cinnamon, cloves, and more, this is the drink we look forward to year after year. Sure, maybe apple-flavored things are passé, but this guy has staying power.

Here's how to make a whole batch of the stuff:

Ingredients (for 12 people):

  • 1 gallon apple fresh cider
  • 3 cups brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • A washed cheesecloth

Instructions:

  1. Add the apple cider and brown sugar to a large pan.
  2. Place the cinnamon sticks and cloves to a pestle in the center of the cheesecloth. Fold up the sides to form a bundle and tie with kitchen string. Drop the bundle into the cider mixture.
