Thin Pasta

Long, thin pastas like vermicelli, spaghetti or angel hair are great for light tomato-based sauces or brothy soups. Because they're so thin, these pastas are best paired with delicate summer sauces—think fresh tomatoes and olive oil. Soups with lots of broth are also ideal, because these pastas don't weigh down the recipe, but still provide some extra texture and consistency. They're also an ideal partner to light and buttery seafood sauces.
