Banana Nut Bread

Add the lemon juice to the mashed bananas to keep them from turning black
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc)
Base for Banana Pudding (or Cream Type Pies)

Mix the sugar and corn starch, then beat in the egg yolks
- 1 1/2 cup milk (scalded)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 Tbls. corn starch
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Fried Pies

Cook fruit. Sweeten and season to taste
- Canned biscuits
- Butter
- Apples (or other fruit), dried or fresh
- Sugar to taste (or other sweetener)
- Seasonings to taste
Pie Crust

Mix flour and salt, and cut in shortening
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- Ice water
Grandmom's Yeast Biscuits

Biscuit dough you can keep in the fridge, and cook on demand
- 1 yeast cake (or equivalent packet yeast)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 Tbs. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 5 cups flour (self-rising preferred)
Beef Strogonoff

- 1 lb. Ground beef (or more if cooking for more people)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can cheddar cheese soup
- Garlic Powder to taste
- Black Pepper to taste
Karo Nut Pie

- 3 eggs
- 1 cup Karo
- 1 Tbls. cream
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/4 stick of butter (or oleo/margarine), melted
