Saving money is getting harder and harder these days. The cost of living in cities all over the country is going up, and you're just trying to stay afloat! With a few minor adjustments, however, you'll be able to save far more easily. Here's how:

Download a Budgeting App

Download a personal finance app like Mint. These apps hook up to your bank account and help you track where your money goes. By visualizing your spending habits, you'll find it easier to set budget goals and figure out how to distribute your paycheck best.

Use Cash Envelopes

Alternatively, you can also kick it old school with a cash envelope system. Just come up with a budget based on different spending categories and designate an envelope for each one. Whatever amount of cash in each envelope is what you can spend until your next paycheck. For most people, physical money is much harder to spend. Now, you'll never be broke again!

Cut Your Grocery Spending

Groceries often make up a huge chunk of your budget! You can reduce this by taking full advantage grocery sales, keeping track of product promotions and stocking up while the price is low. Plan out your  meals in advance so you can save money and avoid wasting ingredients. You can also save a lot of money on supplies by getting an Amazon Prime subscription.

Save on Restaurant Reservations

Making meals at home definitely saves you a lot of money, but that shouldn't stop you from eating out from time to time. With restaurants like OpenTable or Groupon, you can often get restaurants discounts as much as 50 percent off!

Designate No-Spend Weekends

Challenge yourself on certain weekends to spend no money at all. Going out every Friday and Saturday night can really take a toll on your wallet. Every now and then, restrict yourself to a no-spend weekend. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun! Find free outdoor activities such as hiking, having a picnic, or gardening. You can also use this weekend to organize your room, write your novel, or go to a free museum.

Congrats - you are now the money master. Go ahead and make it rain!
