Australian fitness trainer Belinda Norton, age 40, has committed herself to healthy living. The single mother of two got tired of the extra pounds and decided to rethink her eating and exercise habits. Now she's sharing the story of her transformation in the hopes of inspiring others to do the same:

1) Eat small meals several times a day

According to Norton, you should eat six times a day to stabilize your metabolism.  For each meal, you should pay extra attention to portion control, eating no more than a handful of food each time. This prevents your blood sugar levels from spiking and actually keeps you feeling fuller and energized for much longer.
