The cures: Cooking methods, healthy eating habits, avoidance of certain foods

Stick to healthier cooking methods and recipes, to reduce your chances of getting heartburn. These include baking, poaching, steaming and broiling.

Drink tea, instead of coffee, which can exacerbate heartburn symptoms. Sub non-tomato-based sauces in pasta and pizza recipes to prevent excess acid intake.

Also, try to reduce your fatty meat consumption (stick to fish and lean proteins), and avoid refined white carbs. If you must get your breaded food fix, fake it by baking it to cut down on fats.
