Orange Turmeric Fruit Smoothie

For this smoothie, you will need: 

  • 2 bananas
  • the juice of 2 oranges
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ground chia seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric
  • 8 oz plain yogurt
  • 2 fresh figs

Add all the ingredients and half of the yogurt to a blender and mix well to combine. Add the remaining yogurt to a tall glass, cut the figs into slices and add to the glass. Pour the smoothie on top until the glass is full. Place a few more fig slices on top. Garnish with fresh herbs, and serve.

Turmeric is an excellent natural anti-inflammatory, which helps prevent against obesity and other diseases. Combined with fiber-rich chia seeds, potassium-rich bananas and figs, which are brimming with metabolism-boosting vitamins and minerals, it's an excellent weight loss ally.
