Like processed foods, fast food is typically loaded with additives and is offered in huge portions with mostly "empty" calories. After consuming fast food, we often get the sensation of having a rock in our stomachs, which is due to the significant stress it puts on our digestive systems. This is due to lack of dietary fiber and the fact that the processed components of fast food are harder to digest. Plus, fast food is usually eaten quickly as its name suggests, leaving little time for proper digestion as it is. Again, moderation is key; enjoy fast food as an occasional indulgence. Or simply opt for healthy alternatives that are just as delicious.
