Stress Eating
Stress eating is a coping mechanism that many people turn to. However, it is easily one of the unhealthiest ways to deal with stress. When the body gets stressed, its fight-or-flight system is activated, releasing stress hormones that affect appetite and can lead us to crave sweet and fatty foods (usually containing "bad" fats). Instead of reaching for the bag of chips, we should get outside and take a walk around the block. This helps clear our mind and reduces stress levels, removing the temptation to snack our way to a better state of mind.
