Dairy products
Lactose intolerance is one of the most common food sensibilities in the world. You may be lactose-intolerant if you cannot fully digest the sugar (lactose) in milk and other dairy products. This is due to your body not being able to produce enough lactase enzymes, which aid in the digestion of lactose.
Common symptoms include:
- bloating
- diarrhea
- stomach cramps and pains
- gas
- nausea
- spasms
If you suspect you're lactose-intolerant, ask your medical practitioner if you can get tested. And opt for lactose-free products, such as lactose-free cows' milk, soy or other plant-based milks, harder cheeses that are lower in lactose (cheddar, Swiss, parmesan), cottage cheese, etc.
