Here's Why Mayo Is The Secret Ingredient Your Grilled Cheese Is Missing

Your favorite comfort food just got better.

Just Add Mayo

Just Add Mayo

Nothing hits the spot better than a gooey, delicious grilled cheese sandwich. Served with tomato soup on the side, it's every kid's favorite dish! Most recipes will tell you to grill it in butter — but there's a better way to get that crisp texture and golden hue.

The secret? Mayonnaise.

Food writer Tristan Lutze claims that this condiment  will take your favorite comfort food to a whole new level. For one thing, mayo is so much easier to spread than butter! Just spread a dollop on the side of the bread that makes contact with the pan. That nice even coating will toast your bread to perfection (without tearing through or sacrificing the flavor).

You know what that means? No more excess grease, no more burnt patches, and a perfect grilled cheese sandwich every time!
