Not sanitizing your sponges

Bacteria thrive in warm, moist places, so it's important to sanitize your kitchen sponges frequently. To do this, you can soak the sponges for 1 minute in a quart of warm water with 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of concentrated bleach added. Alternatively, you can heat damp sponges for one minute in the microwave, which will effectively kill over 99% of bacteria!
