McDLT

In the 80's, McDonald's introduced the McDLT. It was sold in a styrofoam container with the meat and bottom bun on one side and the top bun + lettuce, tomato, cheese pickles and sauces on the other. Designed to keep the hot part hot and the cold part cold, it was one of the more disappointing inventions to come out of the franchise. Not only did it require customers to "assemble" the burgers themselves, but also the containers were harmful to the environment, which led to the product being discontinued in 1990. Double fail!
