On top of all that, milk is readily available in the US and relatively affordable. In 2017, approximately 215 billion pounds of milk were produced, and the average price in 2016 was $3.16 per gallon. Most people are creatures of habit, so they stick to the milk-and-cereal formula because it makes sense. Others get a bit crazier, even going so far as to use orange juice or coffee... To each their own!
