6. Cut Back on Salt

Excessive sodium consumption is a common culprit in poor diets. It's what gives us that puffy look from retaining too much water. If you tend to be heavy-handed with the salt shaker, switch to fresh herbs, aromatics and spices for added flavor instead. Read food labels to stay aware of your sodium intake, and stay away from processed foods as much as possible. Also, fast food and restaurant dishes can contain more than a day's worth of sodium, so avoid salty foods for your other meals.
