Not refrigerating perishable foods immediately

After your trip to the grocery store or market, transfer all perishable foods such as lettuce, herbs, mushrooms and strawberries to your refrigerator as soon as possible to prolong their life. Fruits and vegetables that have been pre-cut or peeled are particularly susceptible to perishing. The temperature in the fridge should be 40°F or cooler.
