Himalayan Pink Salt

Sometimes called "Jurassic Sea Salt", this salt comes from an evaporated sea in Pakistan that's between 100 and 200 million years old. Why is it pink, you may ask? There have been 84 minerals traced in this salt, but iron oxide is what gives it its distinct color. The other minerals even allow it to be used for bath salts and mineral baths.

Suggestion:

Its flavors are on the subtler side and sometimes even said to be sweet. It can be used in place of table salt for seasoning a variety of dishes, both hot and cold and even in desserts or baked goods to help balance out the sweetness.
