"My goals are to succeed and eventually have a whole line of cookbooks and kitchen products for a healthier lifestyle but still have that European background!"

Hello European Cutie, so tell us...

When did you begin your blog, and what inspired you to start it?

I began my blog 2 years ago, I was inspired from going through my Grandmother's old recipes. I loved them, but wanted to create a healthier version, while still having delicious european style flavors.I was also inspired by the very first blooger of healthy recipes Kelly Hunt.. her blog is Eat yourself Skinny, she is an awesome foodie and friend!

My mother who passed when I was a teenager used to show me cooking tips in the kitchen for healthy eating, she had diabetes and she would make healthy low sugar recipes. My grandmother was a russian old world cook, she was a fiesty caring woman, she taught me the traditional recipes, I remember she was such a perfectionist in the kitchen!

Are you involved in the blogging community - how do you attract new readers?

I am very involved in the blogging community and love new readers and readers ideas. I am on pinterest facebook, foodista, taste of home,my recipe magic, daily food buzz, and of course your wonderful website ! Please check out my blog europeancutie.blogspot.com and follow me on these sites for all my latest recipes! I love sharing my recipes with new readers, and love new ideas from them as well!

Tell us about your European background.

I grew up speaking Russian fluently, my grandparents on my mother's side were from Latvia and Russia. On my stepfather's side I grew up with Greek influences. Although I never knew my real father he was Italian, Armenian, and Serbian. I had many cookbooks of those cultures from my grandma in the house.

What is your earliest food memory?

Making christmas cookies with my mother as a child, I made such a mess with all the frosting! She brought so much joy to Christmas for me every year when she was alive with her decorating and cooking!

What are some of your go to meals and snacks?

I love healthy hummus and veggies, also a handful of pistachio nuts is great to curb hunger! I myself have been on a low carb diet for over 3 years now and enjoy a healthy lifestyle!

If you could be a contestant or guest on any cooking show what show would you choose?

I would choose to be on Giada, she is a treasure and I would love to be a guest on her show!

Who are your culinary influences?

Giada, Rocoo Dispirito, Racheal Ray. Most of all my mother, grandmother and even grandfather's influences!

You like to cook healthy dishes. Is it ever difficult to make your favorite dishes healthier?

Not at all! I love researching my local organic supermarkets and farmers markets for tips on healthier dishes!

What are your goals for this blog? Where would you like to see it in the next year? Five years?

My goals are to succeed and eventually have a whole line of cookbooks and kitchen products for a healthier lifestyle but still have that European background!

Anything else you would like to share?

I am very pleased you have chosen me to be guest blogger of the day! I am awaiting my first cookbook publishing and love your website and all of the other wonderful recipes from all my fellow foodies!
