Making the shells

When you're ready to make your taco shells, heat some oil on a pan. Just make sure to use an oil with a high smoke point, such as vegetable or canola oil, to get them nice and crispy. Then place the tortilla in the pan and fry until it starts to puff up, no more than thirty seconds each side. Use tongs to mold the tortilla into a taco shell shape.
