3 Musketeers

3 Musketeers is one of America's most popular American candy bars made with fluffy nougat filling coated in milk chocolate. It was invented in 1932, produced and manufactured by M&M/Mars. Today, it is made and distributed by Mars, Incorporated. The original 3 Musketeers had three flavors: chocolate, strawberry and vanilla, and was named after the famous novel by Alexandre Dumas. However, WWII led to a cutback on sugar, so the company nixed its strawberry and vanilla flavors in favor of chocolate, which was more popular anyway. The first 3 Musketeers bar sold for 5 cents. Today, you can also get the candy bar in mini format, fun-size or as unwrapped "bites."
