RECALL: Butter Removed From USA Shelves

,
Gourmandize

(August 14, 2017) Products recalled due to presence of undeclared allergens.

Dierbergs Markets of St Louis, Missouri is recalling two butter products due to the presence of undeclared allergens. The products contain undeclared lobster, crab, and shrimp in scampi butter and undeclared soy and wheat in cabernet grille butter.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered by Dierbergs personnel during an internal audit. The fish, lobster, crab, and shrimp containing (Scampi Butter) and Soy and Wheat containing (Cabernet Grille Butter) product was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of the allergens. Subsequent investigation indicated the omissions were the result of ingredient changes in the products. No other Dierbergs Markets branded products are affected by this recall.

People who have allergies to fish, lobster, crab, shrimp, soy, or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Symptoms of a shellfish allergy can include shortness of breath, wheezing, stomach cramps, vomitting, diarrhea, dizziness, confusion, and trouble swallowing. Symptoms of a soy or wheat allergy can include rash, hives, itchy mouth, wheezing, nausea, vomitting, or diarrhea.
