False Morel

Highly prized by gourmet chefs and sought out by fans all over the world during spring, the Morel mushroom is known for its tasty flavor and distinctive spongy appearance. So far so good right? Well, inexperienced hunters run the risk of picking the False Morel, a similar-looking but truly dangerous species. Containing the toxin gyromitrin, when eaten the False Morel can cause severe cases of diarrhea, headaches, loss of muscular coordination, vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and even death. To make things worse, False Morels often grow alongside harmless and tasty Morel varieties. Keep your botanical guide close at hand!

These quick and easy chicken quesadillas are the perfect, last-minute family dinner!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup of chives, chopped
  • 1 tsp. of Mexican spice mix
  • 4 Tortillas
  • Cheddar
  • Salt, to taste

METHOD:

  1. Put shredded chicken breast, tomato sauce, chives, and mexican spice mix in a bowl and mix together.
  2. Lay out the tortillas. Place a slice of cheddar in the center, and cover with the chicken mix.
  3. Fold up tortillas, and heat in a frying pan until golden.
  4. Enjoy!
