Steak & Cheddar Melts

Ingredients

  • 1 kg steak
  • sliced
  • Aromat
  • Aromatic lemon and herb
  • Garlic- crushed
  • Crushed green chillies
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fine black pepper
  • 5-6 tbsp olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle a good amount of spices on each steak piece, stack one ontop of another. Allow it to marinate for a couple of hours.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pot and cook steak with 1/2 cup water until cooked thoroughly and water has evaporated.

Step 3

Mushroom sauce
1 punnet mushroom- sliced thin
Add to a sauce pan with 1/2 tbsp of green chillies and galic
Juice of 1/2 lemon.
1/2 black pepper
Cook for few minutes on medium.

Step 4

In another saucepan,
Braise 1/2 chopped onion in
3 tbsp olive oil.
Add the mushroom mixture.

Step 5

In a jug mix
1/2 pk knorr creamy mushroom sauce
1/2 pk knorr black pepper sauce
1/2 pk knorr 3 cheese sauce.
1/2 cup boiling water
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp garlic flakes,
Mix until smooth.

Add this to the mushroom mixture, and allow it to thicken slightly.

Step 6

Top pieces of steak with a slice of cheddar cheese and top with the mushroom sauce.

Use boneless steak and use it as burgers.
