Ingredients

  • chicken pieces on the bone
  • water to cover
  • 3 T soy sauce
  • 2 T gochu jang
  • 2 potatoes in chunks
  • 2 carrots in chunks
  • 2 onions
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 or 2 T sugar

Preparation

Step 1

put chicken in large pot and fill with water to cover

Step 2

add soy and gochu jang and boil about 30 minutes

Step 3

add potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic and boil until soft

Step 4

add sugar and green onions

Step 5

serve beside rice, korean style (a bowl for each)

for the soy sauce, use "Jin Gan Jang"
