Sweet Apple Cinnamon Rolls

1 apple
Pie crust dough
1/8 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup almond powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Egg yellow(s)
Milk

 

1. Halve an apple and slice each half finely.

2. Cut the top of a pie crust to get a straight edge.

3. Spread the brown sugar and almond powder all over the dough.

4. To get the first row, line up the apples in a straight line and cut out the section. Continue until all the dough is all used up.

5. Mix egg yellow and milk and cover each roll with the mixture.

6. If you wish, sprinkle a little extra brown sugar on top of each roll.

7. Bake in the oven for 18 min at 350° F.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  • 10 ounces dry pasta (I used a combination of rotini, farfalle and penne. Any similar size would work.)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 cup whole milk, heavy cream or half-and-half (I used half-and-half)
  • 1/2 cup shredded or grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh spinach
  • 2 cups cooked chicken (cubed or shredded)
  • 1/2 cup fresh tomatoes, cut into large chunks (I used grape tomatoes sliced in half)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

  • 1 pound of dried ziti
  • 3 1/2 cups of quick tomatoe sauce
  • 1 pound of fresh mozzarella half cut 1/2 cubes 1/2 thinly sliced
  • 3/4 cup of freshly grated parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • Kosher salt to taste
