Casserole of Scallops and Shrimp with Saffron Sauce

  • 4 scallops
  • shrimp
  • 1/2 cube of chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • scant 1/2 cup of cream thick
  • saffron
  • salt and pepper

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F

Make a broth with 30 ounces of hot water and half chicken stock cube.

Step 2

Melt the butter in a small saucepan, when it scorches throw in flour at once and stir with a spatula, add the broth slowly and thicken over low heat. Add the cream and saffron salt and pepper. Reserve.

Step 3

Fry scallops quickly in butter just 1 minute for color and place them in an oven proof dish with shrimp, shelled and cut into small pieces. Coat with saffron cream. Bake in hot oven at 350 F degrees for 15 minutes.
