The golden rules for pairing beer with food

Beer and oysters

If you're having oysters that aren't too milky or iodized, then go with a mild-tasting wheat beer such as Blue Moon or Shock Top. But if they're rich in iodine, opt for a stout made with roasted barley, such as Guinness Draught or Murphy's Irish Stout. Tip: Sip the beer first, then slurp down the oyster or vice versa. Just don’t let the oyster swim in the beer in your mouth.
