Drink a big glass of water

In order to really enjoy a cocktail (and not down it in one go!), it's absolutely necessary to prepare your taste buds by drinking a large glass of water beforehand. That way you can enjoy the different flavors and aromas without drinking to simply quench your thirst. If you're not a fan of tap water, try adding a lemon wedge to help cleanse your palate.
