Rate this recipe 4.2/5 (25 Votes)

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 -500gm tub sour cream
  • 1 brick cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 jar Salsa
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese (grated), may want to mix mozzarella cheese with it.
  • Chopped vegetables such as celery, fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, green onions, lettuce.

Step 1

Cream sour cream and cream cheese together until smooth.

Step 2

Place in the bottom of a large margarine dish. Refrigerate.

Step 3

Fry hamburger, drain grease. Add taco mix and follow the package directions. Let cool.

Step 4

Place cooled hamburg mixture on top of cheese mixture.

Step 5

Top with salsa.

Step 6

Add your layers of fresh vegetables.

Step 7

Top with grated cheese. Let sit about 1/2 hour in fridge.

Step 8

Serve with taco chips. I prefer the mulit-grain chips.

Although this is a good party snack, I enjoy it as a meal on it's own. You can also set aside some sour cream mixture and hamburg mixture and make another time... keeping it fresher.
