This Indian treat always makes an appearance at major life and holiday celebrations and is also widely popular in the Middle East, North Africa and the Philippines. It consists of deep-fried wheat flour in twisted, pretzel-like rounds that are then glazed in sugar syrup. Other variations add rose water or citrus juice to the recipe. You can enjoy it hot or cold—just be sure to have some napkins on hand or be ready to lick the stickiness from your fingers!
