Honey

Honey is a natural sweetener, produced by bees from evaporated flower nectar. It's made up of fructose and glucose and is easily assimilated by the body, so it's great for a little boost of easy energy.  It also contains traces of vitamin C, magnesium and antioxidants, and has been used for centuries for its healing properties. For the best honey, purchase fresh and locally — many imported honeys (from China, for example) are diluted with high fructose corn syrup and tainted with chemicals, antibiotics, and even lead metal.
